People Matter – Make everyday a Mandela Day!

At Gunstons Attorneys, people matter. People matter in our firm, people matter outside our firm – every day of the year.
In honour of an extraordinary man who shares this same view, some of us at Gunstons put into action this very concept, on Mandela Day last week.
To highlight some of the activities we got up to:
Grant Gunston, Managing Director, volunteered four hours to attend a workshop hosted by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, where panellists compared experiences in assisting with land reform, with a view to enriching this process.
Trudie Broekmann, Commercial Director, along with some of her friends, helped renovate the study room at Beth Uriel Boys Home in Observatory and donated some books and magazines to the home.
Denver Vraagom, Associate, is winding up an estate and doing a transfer pro bono for a family who cannot afford the legal fees.
Ian Teague, Associate, is assisting a pensioner from Langa to obtain ownership of the house she has been renting for decades from the City and is consequently entitled to be awarded ownership of, also on a pro bono basis.
Anelisa Keke, Candidate Attorney, is advising a community organisation from a disadvantaged Cape Flats neighbourhood at a substantially discounted rate.
Kate Gunston, Administrator, spent some time off thinking and praying for our nation, its leaders and future leaders. Taking a moment to appreciate what has been done already and praying for radical change for the betterment of education, health and South Africans, as a society, being an influential example in demonstrating unity to the world.
